Can I use AV receiver with soundbar?

You can connect the soundbar to a receiver by an optical cable. You should also note that the digital encoding standards should match on both the receiver and soundbar. If they dont then you may run into some odd sound issues. You can also use HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) to connect a soundbar to a receiver.
