Question: Does celibacy increase lifespan?

The link between celibacy and longevity has been widely researched, and the findings from the University of Sheffield (as reported in The New Scotsman ) indicate shunning sex is more conducive to a longer life than being sexually active.

Is long term celibacy healthy?

Not having sex for a long time should not have negative health effects. There is no right or wrong way to express sexual feelings, as long as everyone involved is clearly consenting. No one should ever feel obliged to have sex. Avoiding sex will not harm a persons health, and it may even be healthy.

Is celibacy bad for health?

But just because sex is good for you doesnt mean that abstaining from sex is bad for you. With the exception of obvious conditions like vaginal atrophy that are directly related to sexual abstinence, no studies directly link celibacy to poor overall health.
